It has been a very busy summer and it doesn't seem like it should be ending already.  I had not planned on doing 2 days a week at the Lyman Farmer's Market.  It was a new market that I found out about by accident and I was so happy about it.  I really hope the Market will continue next year, it's a great location and there are some great vendors.  We have had super customers who continue to come even though it was a slow beginning and we lost some vendors.  This ...

My Apologies

I wanted to make you all aware that my internet service has been out of order for the past 2 weeks. We also experienced telephone problems during that time. I'm sure that I've missed some messages and emails. If you left a message or tried to send an email and did not receive a response, please send it again or contact me as I have no way to recover those that were lost. The internet service seems to be working now and I hope to be able to catch up and get everyone a response very soon. ...

Happy New Year!

I have high hopes and big plans for 2012!  We have been very busy here on the farm.  In late Fall we finally got our barn up and now we are working on finishing it.  We've added a big chicken coop for my layer flock.  I finally got to  move some birds in there last week and so far they seem very happy with the set up.  I can lock them up safe and sound at night and let them out during the day.  Right now they are turned out into a temporary yard because...

The first Winter Farmer's Market for this season will be this coming Sunday - November 20, 2011 at Sharon Rose Farm, 1872 Sharon Road, Woodruff SC from 2:00 to 6:00.  Native Meats will be selling their wonderful pork, chicken, beef and turkeys.  Joyful Sounds Farm will be there selling our chicken, duck and quail eggs.  I'm sure there will be many other farms there with their fresh products for sale and no doubt Rollie will be giving his famous farm tours.  It's sure to be...

November Happenings at the Farm

It is cold....did I mention I hate cold weather?  Well, it's dipping into the 30's here at night and I had baby mallard ducklings hatch today!  They are the cutest, tiniest little babies.  I didn't let Mama duck keep these.  I'm afraid they won't make it through the first few days especially since we have rain predicted later this week.  I also have promised these babies to a friend so it will be fun for her to hand raise them herself.  Believe it or not, I still...
